American Made Country Band
In 1984, a group of musicians got together
to form a band, and within two weeks, entered the Marlboro Talent Roundup
in Southern California. They did not win, but vowed to try again next
year. In the meantime, they continued to perform in clubs, honing their
craft, and quickly becoming a favorite with fans around the area. In
1985, the group competed again in the Roundup, won first place, then
appeared in concert with Merle Haggard, George Strait, and Alabama at
the LA Forum, and sang the National Anthem at a Laker Game. Not too shabby
a start for AMERICAN MADE!! In the 20 years since then, it's been quite
a ride--the group has appeared at Disneyland, Disney World, Knott's Berry
Farm, in casinos in Las Vegas, Reno, Tahoe, and Laughlin, as well as
at fairs, rodeos, concerts, nightclubs, and special events throughout
the West. Actor Dennis Weaver chose AMERICAN MADE as his band when he
took his country music show on the road, touring for two seasons and
appearing on TNN and Canadian television. The group was also invited
to perform at Dennis & Gerry Weaver's 50th wedding anniversary celebration
in Colorado.
AMERICAN MADE has appeared with numerous major artists, including Alabama,
George Strait, Merle Haggard, Dwight Yoakum, Crystal Gayle, Gary Allen,
Marty Stuart, Chris LeDoux, Charlie Daniels, John Conlee, Michael Martin
Murphy, Gary Morris, The Kentucky Headhunters, Baillie & the Boys,
McBride & the Ride, Clinton Gregory, Gene Watson, Boy Howdy, T. Graham
Brown, Janie Fricke, Tom T. Hall, Johnny Paycheck, and Johnny Lee. AMERICAN MADE has won over forty
awards from the California Country Music Association, including Band
of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year.
Their self-produced album, "Forty Miles From Lonely", was
voted Album of the Year by the CCMA. The group continues to perform
with enthusiasm, always adding to its repertoire, and to its growing
list of clients, fans, and friends.
