BOLLYWOOD - Ishq Duniya Dance Company

Based in Hollywood, CA, Ishq Duniya Dance Company specialize in Dances of India (Bollywood, folkloric, classical) and Dances of the Middle East (Egypt, Lebannon, Gulf, Iran, etc), as well as international shows. With over 30 artists (ten men, ten women, and 10 musicians), each dancer is highly trained in many forms of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop, as well as other specialty ethnic dances of the world (Spain, Africa, Europe, Greece, Armenian, Russian,etc.). All full-time Bollywood dancers, many of them have performed all over the world, including contracts on Broadway and Las Vegas, and world tours with top artists, such as JLo, B2K, Britney Spears, and Pink.

Founders, artistic directors, and Bollywood choreographers, Neena & Veena have performed on hundreds of theater and concert stages, television, and films, including the American Music Awards, VH-1, ER, The Academy Awards, and Live with Regis and Kelly, and numerous music videos including Ricky Martin, Aerosmith, Dr. Dre, and Michael Jackson. The identical twins have also performed for many celebrities, dignitaries, and royalty, including former prime minister of India, Sting, Hugh Hefner, and at Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt’s wedding reception.

Trained in the US, Egypt, and India, the twins studied classical dances of India extensively including Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Kuchpudi, and Odissi, as well as folk dances of Middle East and India. As graduates from UCLA and Berkeley, they also have extensive training in other forms of dance and movement, including ballet, jazz, and yoga, and the twins were the first to mainstream and popularize bellydance in the U.S.

COSTUMES:
Bollywood Ishq Duniya Dance Company provides all authentic bollywood dance costumes custom-made and imported from India, Egypt and Turkey. Each high-quality costume is specific to the songs performed for your special event.

MUSIC:

BOLLYWOOD SHOW: Since all of our songs are from the original tracks, we strongly suggest a professional DJ to play our bollywood CDs, which either we can provide or you can hire. For variety, we can provide live dhols and chimtas for our bhangra shows, which are a great addition for a lively Bollywood evening or we can also provide a live Indian Bollywood band containing a variety of Indian songs.

MIDDLE EASTERN SHOW: We suggest our Bellytwins Arabic band, which contains up to ten live musicians – (5 piece minimum).

AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION:
All of the Bollywood songs are specially and professionally choreographed. However, at your request, our dancers can incorporate a family member(s), friend(s), or that special person(s) into the “act,” either “performing” part of the song, or just joining in the Bhangra or other songs at the end of the show
