The Police Experience hurls you back
20 years ago to re-live the raw, electrifying, event that was a Police
concert. With extraordinary attention to detail, the band has amazed
audiences wherever they have played; from young fans of 80s music who
may not have even heard of The Police, to the most hardcore of fans and
even members of The Police family themselves.
In July 2003, Ian Copeland arranged the band
to play Stewart Copeland's birthday party. With Ian, Stewart, and Miles
in the audience, The Police Experience, ripped through all the classic
Police tunes. Later in the evening, Stewart asked if he could sit in.
The Police Experience and Stewart
tore the house down with "Driven To Tears" and "Roxanne." For
the band it was an honor and a solid affirmation of their efforts to
play with one of the world's most talented rock drummers ever and the
founding member of The Police! The Police Experience is the only Police
tribute band endorsed by the entire Copeland family; so if you like the
Police, this
is as close as it gets.
The Police Experience is as close
as it gets to seeing The Police as they were in their prime. Using
the original 3 person line-up, the original
instruments, the effects, the gadgets, the clothes, ...all the bells and whistles.
The band recreates the energetic live shows that earned The Police the reputation
of a top-notch live act, not just a "studio band" who toured in perfunctory
fashion.
The Police Experience plays LIVE, without
the use of backing tracks for vocals, bass, drums, or guitar.
The Police Experience will remind
you of how many hits The Police produced. Every Breath You Take, Don't
Stand So Close To Me, Message In A Bottle, Roxanne, Walking On The Moon,
King Of Pain, etc., etc., etc!
Whether it's a club, festival, private party
or corporate function, The Police Experience is an exciting,
high-energy show that will amaze audiences and provide an adrenaline
filled burst of nostalgia to anyone who spent their formative years in
the 80s. If you like Rock/Reggae/Pop/Jazz/New Wave/Punk/Fusion/Funk you'll
like The Police Experience. Like The Police, The Police Experience
is an act that is fresh, unique, and timeless.
Band Bios
David Rasner (Sting)
Like Sting, David has been an actor as well as a musician. He received his
MFA from the American Conservatory Theater graduate program. He was a regular
in Bay Area theatres such as the American Conservatory Theater, The Magic
Theater, Berkeley Repertory Theater, and Shakespeare Santa Cruz. Voice-over
credits include; "Final Fantasy: The Movie", "Princess Mononoke", "Ferngully
2," “Astroboy: The Series”, HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm",
the title role of Jubei in “Ninja Scroll: The Series” and the
soon to be released video game Final Fantasy XII. A talented vocal mimic
and a long-time fan of The Police, it was second nature to sound like Sting.
Recently, he even lent his Sting impersonation to a lead villain named Steng
on The Cartoon Network's Zatch Bell. Currently he is a regular on several
animated series and specializes in voice replacing everyone from Antonio
Banderas to L.L. Cool J. More than anything, David enjoys spending time with
his wife Jonna and daughter Sofia.
Mike Nieland (Stewart)
Since starting at the age of 4, Mike has studied with the top drummers in his
field including; Chester Thompson, Billy Cobham, Dom Famularo, Jim Chapin,
as well as being a graduate (top of his class- by the way) of the now-infamous
'School of Hard Knocks'… In other words, Mike has spent the last 15
years on the road, touring and recording with a multitude of artists from
the obscure right up to Grammy-Winning producers. "Growing up I played
along with all of The Police stuff to the point where I knew it front to
back… This gig made perfect sense to me, I could finally get a chance
to play these great songs that I grew up in awe of and pay tribute to them." Mike
also teaches around L.A. when time permits.
Pat Cherry (Andy)
What do Joe Perry (Aerosmith), Rick Allen (Def Leppard), and Guy Charbonneau
(Multi-Award winning producer/engineer) all have in common?? They all list
Pat Cherry as one of their favorite guitarists. Tackling the tough task of
emulating Andy Summers, Pat brings the energy of a true guitar virtuoso to
the band. After studying jazz guitar at Pittsburgh's Duquene University and
rising to the top of the local music scene, Pat relocated to Los Angeles
where he divides his time between The Police Experience, and being
one of the most in-demand teachers in town.
