Grammy Award winner Hazel Payne, as an original
member of
A Taste of Honey, toured the U.S., Japan, the Philippines
and South America. As a solo act, Hazel Payne also toured Japan, but
has added Hong Kong, China, the Spanish, French, and Italian Rivieras,
the
Greek
Isles, the Caribbean, Monte Carlo, Istanbul, Las Vegas, New York and
more. She has been in the spotlight on uncountable television and radio
shows worldwide.
While Hazel Payne of A Taste of Honey was the leading lady for Kid Creole
(Kid Creole and the Coconuts) in the British musical theater production “Oh!
What A Night”,
she toured Great Britain and Europe where show reviews touted her as
"…the
little lady with the big voice…"
Hazel Payne is the consummate entertainer;
vocalist, lead guitar, band leader, dancer (Soul Train), and has shared
the stage with notables
like Eartha
Kitt, Dionne Warwick, Donna Summer, Frankie Valle, Lionel Richie and
the Commodores... and the list goes on. Her diverse career has included
runway modeling at Sak’s 5th Avenue, New York, with the one and
only Tina Turner! Her audiences have included celebrity guests such
as George Clooney, Peter Fonda, Larry King and Michael Jackson.
Hazel’s live-to-track show, “Don’t Walk, Boogie”,
gives “kudos” to some of the biggest disco hits
including the disco anthem, “I Will Survive” and, of course,
the song that started it all for Hazel: “Boogie Oogie Oogie”!
