Back In The Day was formed in August, 2002.
Larry Lee wanted to put together a group of musicians/vocalist that would
rival any national act. Their very first
show
was with Chante' Moore, Kenny Lattimore, and Joe. Larry Lee convinced
some promoter friends to put them on the show, and the rest is history.
Back in The Day's next
show, the following week, was with The world famous Isley Brothers.
Since then the band has shared the bill with countless national acts.
The Back in The Day Band has more
than
100 years performance experience. Several members of Back In The
Day
have been members of some of the greatest groups of all time. Groups
such as The Four Tops, The Temptations, The Dramatics, Bill Moss
and the Celestials, Mary Wilson, Chaka Khan, Parliament/Funkadelic, and
the
Contours.
While
growing up in Dayton, Larry Lee played in groups with members of
Slave, Roger Troutman, Ohio Players, and Lakeside.
Back In The day is also starting
to capture a national/international audience with past performances
held in Aruba, West Indies, Super Bowls XXXIX and XL, for Ohio Governor
Ted Strickland
with Senator Hillary Clinton in attendance, Indiana, Michigan for Governor
Jennifer Granholm, Illinois (for Steadman Graham), and Pennsylvania
along with performances scheduled to take place in, Virgin Islands, Los
Angeles,
Vegas, and Japan.
In their home town of Detroit, Back In The
Day Band was the busiest band in the city during Super Bowl XL week.
The band performed
7 shows in 5 days. Performances for major parties such as NFL Commissioner
Paul Tagliabues' Super Bowl Party, the perfect party held by the
perfect 72 Miami Dolphins, and The NFL Management Councils' private party.
Lastly,
Chrysler Motor Corp. has adopted Back In The Day as their personal
band with performances all over the country for various Chrysler events.
Back
In The Day has three Detroit Music Awards nominations under its belt
for the R and B band of the year, and Larry Lee was voted the outstanding
urban/funk musician of the year (2006)

Larry
Lee spent 18 years in the NFL, 9 as a player, and 9 as an executive.
He played for
the
Detroit
Lions, Miami Dolphins, and Denver Broncos and played
in Super Bowl XXII with the Broncos. After his playing days, he
was Vice-President of the Detroit Lions from
1993-2001.
All of
that was a blessing for him, but now he is following his
childhood passion, music. Larry has been a professional bass

more than 25 years.
He grew up in Dayton, Ohio the same town that produced
The Ohio Players, Lakeside, Heatwave, Slave, Roger Troutman, Sun,
