Back in The Day Band Featuring Larry Lee

Back in The Day Band Featuring Larry Lee

Back In The Day was formed in August, 2002. Larry Lee wanted to put together a group of musicians/vocalist that would rival any national act. Their very first show was with Chante' Moore, Kenny Lattimore, and Joe. Larry convinced some promoter friends to put them on the show, and the rest is history. Their very next show, the following week, was with the world famous Isley Brothers. Since then the band has shared the bill with countless national acts.

In their home town of Detroit, Back In The Day was the busiest band in the city during Super Bowl XL week. The band performed 7 shows in 5 days. Performances for major parties such as NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabues' Super Bowl Party, the perfect party held by the perfect 72 Miami Dolphins, and The NFL Management Councils' private party. Back In The Day has four Detroit Music Awards nominations under its belt for the R and B band of the year, and Larry was voted the outstanding urban/funk musician of the year (2006)

Back In The Day provided the entertainment for 3 Super Bowl XLIII events. World Champion Chicago Bear QB Jim Mcmahon hired the band for his Swang N Bash. The night was star studded. On Saturday the night before Super Bowl XLIII Back In The Day performed for the retired players Superfest 2009. It was held at the lovely Rutland Estates in St. Petersburg. Lastly, the celebration to beat all celebrations. Larry Lee and Back In The Day provided the entertainment for the World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers. It was a night to behold.

Larry Lee

Larry Lee spent 18 years in the NFL, 9 as a player, and 9 as an executive. He played for the Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, and Denver Broncos and played in Super Bowl XXII with the Broncos. After his playing days, he was Vice-President of the Detroit Lions from 1993-2001. All of that was a blessing for him, but now he is following his childhood passion, music. Larry has been a professional bass player for more than 25 years. He grew up in Dayton, Ohio the same town that produced The Ohio Players, Lakeside, Heatwave, Slave, Roger Troutman, Sun, Phaze-o, and Dottie Peoples. So you know the funk is in him.

" Back In The Day has opened for my national acts at Arts, Beats, and Eats, the 10th largest festival in the world, for the last 3 years. I love how they get the crowd so hyped that the national act has no choice but to put on a good show. In reality, they're a national act themselves"
