Repertoire
The Spectrum Brass Quintet currently has two
concert showcases, both created in collaboration with composer
and arranger Jim Stephenson. Their Gershwin revue Who Could
Ask For Anything More?, combines the ambiance of an orchestra
concert with the energy of a cabaret. The new addition of
their feature with orchestra, Salsa Metales, promises to
enthrall audiences with the showmanship of brass chamber
music, the breadth and power of a symphony orchestra, and
the energy and passion of Latin music. In addition, the
Spectrum Brass Quintet is excited to announce a new project
with Jim Stephenson to commission a new work for brass quintet
and band to be premiered in the fall of 2010. This work
will be combined with master-classes, coachings, and a formal
recital to create the Spectrum Residency program. This new
addition to the repertoire will educate and entertain young
musicians throughout the country. With music masterfully
crafted by Jim Stephenson and flawlessly performed by the
Spectrum Brass Quintet, audiences will be sure to leave
wanting more.
