The Legendary 4-Nikators were originally formed in 1958
with the intention of playing 60's, 70's and Motown music. Since it hadn't
been written yet, they had to wait until 1979 to have their first practice
session. The band is also honored to play 50's music if requested. The
key is: Can you dance to it?
The seven musicians have been on a twenty-year extended
world tour but still take time to perform for parties, concerts and weddings
in the Northern Hemisphere (which at this time, includes Colorado, its
contiguous and noncontiguous states).
Speaking of nuptials, The Legendary 4-Nikators have played
weddings in such famous and exclusive places as New York City, New Orleans,
Chicago, Sun Valley and Niwot. However, due to their deeply held spiritual
convictions, they will never, ever play the Macarena or the Chicken Dance.
The Legendary 4-Nikators has performed at such diverse
Colorado venues as McNichols Arena, The Fillmore Auditorium, Fiddler's
Green, Folsom Stadium, The Gerald Ford Amphitheater and was the host
band for the 1998 and 1999 World Alpine Ski Championships in Vail, as
well as the 1990 World Disabled Ski Championships.
The Legendary 4-Nikators have also been fortunate
to have played all over the United States, sharing the stage with Jay
Leno, Little
Richard, The Village People, The Beach Boys, The Isley Brothers, Earth
Wind and Fire, Bette Midler, Elton John and many others. At one Chicago
party featuring James Brown and Aretha Franklin, the band was introduced
as "America's Number One Party Band," so it was only natural that they
were chosen to play for Jose Cuervo's 200th Anniversary in Tequila, Mexico.

"On behalf of the City of Aurora and the Aurora Centennial Committee, I'd
like to say how pleased we were with the entertainment The Legendary Nikators
provided at last night's Fourth of July Celebration on the Lowry Air Force Base.
The estimated 30,000 people on the parade grounds all had smiles on their faces.
...Your group's enthusiasm for a good time is quite contagious. The crowd was
digging it, young and old, straight and not-so. Thanks for doing such a great
job."
